Born in Alice Springs, Rita’s family connections extend to Areyonga through both of her parents, and her painting practice is grounded in the Country, stories and family knowledge passed down to her.
Rita paints Tjukurpa connected to her homelands at Tjitji Ngatingka, an important site situated between Uluṟu and Kaltukatjara. Her works speak to Tjitji Tjukurpa, or the Kids Creation Story, which she has inherited through her family line.
