Aaron’s winning piece, 'Kamela', was recognized by the Art Prize judges as an unquestionable standout.
"The clarity of shape, color, and narrative in his work describes a relationship with the land that is joyous. The layering of paint conveys a sense of place and life, as well as symbolism between humans and animals".
— Judges comments
Aaron's unique and joyful compositions depict the animal life around his home community of Kaltukatjara. In this work, he has painted his favourite topic: kamela (camels) walking through the native grasses out bush, searching for water. Aaron has been a dedicated painter with Kaltukatjara Art for years now, and we are overjoyed to see his practice celebrated.
