We are thrilled to announce that the stunning hand painted silks by Tjarlirli and Kaltukatjara artists have been named finalists in the prestigious National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) 2024, under the Textile Design Award category.

We couldn’t be prouder of the artists featured: Winsome Newberry, Faith Butler, Jade Butler, and Sally Butler.

In addition to this nomination, these beautiful silks have also caught the attention of Vogue Australia. Featured in a special article, Vogue highlighted the vibrant craftsmanship of our silks and the deep cultural stories they embody. We are thrilled to see our silks showcased by such an iconic platform.

The National Indigenous Fashion Awards, held annually on Larrakia Country in Darwin, shine a spotlight on the diverse creativity of First Nations artisans. As part of this celebration of culture and craftsmanship, the nomination brings the vibrant stories of our artists into focus.

The silk scarves painted by Winsome, Faith, Jade, and Sally are part of a larger collection of silks we created and exhibited at Laundry Gallery.

Find out what we’ve been up to, and where you can see our art.
