Kiritji

55.9cm x 91.4cm

I paint the country and story for Kiritji. My father and grandfather were near the rockhole at Kiritji, near Patjarr, when a wati (young man) threw his boomerang at them. They jumped into the rockhole for protection and when they came out the man was gone. This is the Tjukurrpa (dreaming) of this place. It has been handed down to Sheila, from her father, who has given her permission to paint the story. 'I can't say anymore because it's sacred and not for the public to hear. That's all'.
