Mrs. Porter's painting blends the physical and spiritual aspects of the land, showing how cultural narratives shape the way the desert is experienced and understood.

In Kumpul, Mrs. Porter tells the story of the creation of Warlartu (Lake Hopkins) by the Porcupine Man during the Dreaming.

The intricate dotting and circular patterns reflect the lake and the surrounding landscape. Porter’s skilled use of color and form brings this ancient story to life, where the argument between the Hill Kangaroo and Ground Kangaroo resulted in the transformation of a freshwater lake into a salty spring.
