Young women are travel around the country near Tjukurla with the older ladies.

In this painting, the women learn many things about where to collect special grasses and flowers and other types of bush tucker. This knowledge is recorded in the motifs and symbols which have been used in Western Desert visual culture for countless generations, and which the artists now deploy in the new medium of acrylic painting. 
Josephine Napurrula
Josephine was born in the bush, close to the later-established Tjukurla community. She is the daughter of Kulata (Kuliti) Tjakamarra, who was from Payarrnganya and Kuruyultu, near Tjukurla, and his wife Mayaru, who was from Walungurru (Kintore).
