Acrylic on canvas

This work embodies both the beauty of the physical land and the rich layers of Dreaming that animate it.

Pangkupirri by Mrs. Porter illustrates a large mountain range and rockhole that holds great spiritual significance in her homeland. Portraying the sacred stories of the Mountain Devil Woman and the Mountain Dove Man. Mrs. Porter’s strong brushwork and fluid design capture the movement of these ancestral beings, whose presence is still felt in the rocks and trees of Pangkupirri.
