Tjarlirli Rockhole by Mrs Porter depicts an important water source near Tjukurla, where women gathered and prepared bush tucker. The detailed mapping mimics the sandhills and rock formations of the area, while the circular motifs symbolize the rockholes that sustain life in the desert. Porter’s painting is a testament to the significance of women’s roles in both the cultural and environmental landscape of her homeland.
