Mrs N. Giles' powerful works are notable for their free and distinctive compositions, highly accomplished use of colour, and pulsating energy.

This powerful work depicts the emu spirits at Warmurrungu, a site where ochre is ceremonially excavated and emu spirits are released.

Mrs N. Giles' knowledge of Ngaanyatjarra Inma (ceremonies) and Tjukurrpa (dreaming stories) was extensive, and informed her decisive and highly rhythmic application of paint to the canvas.
