Warrpara Ngura

30.5cm x 40.6cm

Warrpara Ngura is a heartfelt depiction of Millie's ancestral land in Western Australia. This vibrant artwork portrays the meeting of her family's ngura (country), representing the deep connection between Millie and her ancestors on both sides of her family.

The painting is also intricately linked to the epic Kungka Rangkalpa Tjukurrpa (Seven Sisters Dreaming), a significant story that spans vast parts of the Australian continent. Millie captures the moment when the Seven Sisters traverse her family's land, a sacred journey that culminates with their ascent into the sky, transforming into stars in the Milky Way.

Through her use of bold, expressive brushstrokes and a vivid palette, Millie brings to life the landscape’s natural features. She invites viewers to appreciate the deep spiritual and familial bonds that tie Millie to her country.
