Lirrurn

Lirrurn rockhole and country is in the Mural Sherwin Cresent Range between Kaltukatjara and Warakurna. The Lirru (Snake) people lived there in the Tjukurrpa. A Warnampi man came from the south to the Lirru people and ask them for help to heal his sick son. The Lirru people helped him, by giving him something for him to take with him to heal his son. In return the Warnampi man gave them nectar as a thank you gift - the Karlinkarlinpa (bushy tree honey grevillea) and Yurltukunpa (talk tree honey grevillea). These two and other types of grevillea grow everywhere in the desert areas of Central Australia. 

Tjawina’s family and extended families used to travel from far flung places to collect the Mingkulpa (wild tobacco) that grew in the ranges of Lirrurn. 

All artworks are sold unstretched.   

All works are shipped insured, tracked and express through TNT or Australia Post. Please be mindful of our remote location when awaiting your purchase, all freight leaves our communities on the once-weekly mail plane.

Due to the nature of art centre operations, with artists being paid directly from each sale, we cannot return, exchange or refund orders for a change of mind. If there is physical damage to your artwork, we will refund the purchase. Please contact us within 10 days of receipt.
